Why Do I Want To Work At Fobula?

We listed all the reasons why would you consider a career at Fobula Games as a game developer.

We asked the same question at first, so we worked hard to come up with answers and also live up to them. Here we go.

We Craft Deep Games

Fobula targets a mature audience, so we aim for deep gameplay and narrative elements. Likewise, your work will be deep and satisfying on many aspects. We create emotion-first experiences, meant to be played in dedicated platforms such as PC’s and consoles. You will be on the frontlines of game development.

In our games we touch some of today’s global issues (environment, gender, human rights and more) by holding a mirror up to our players, doing our part for the long-term survival of our planet. You will become a part of that while doing your job.

We Value Balance

We do weekly sprints and actually plan for 40 hours of weekly effort. That’s it. No crunches, no late night or weekend calls.

We Work Remotely

We love getting together but believe the ability to produce games completely remotely is an excellent modern skill and we put faith behind it. You will have the comfort of working remotely, having a better work-life balance.

We Work Closely

We don’t plan to grow further than 20 people. This means you will be able to experience a lot of cross-disciplinary discussions. You will be able to influence the whole company and get influenced by creative people of different disciplines. This also means no communication barriers and a workspace where everyone know each other.

We Are A Community

We work closely with our community and have excellent insight on community’s needs and desires. You will get to learn this as well.

We Have A Lot To Share

Fobula management has a proud track record of leading with values, a clear vision and a strong sense of mission. We have much to learn from you and hopefully give some back as well. Fobula management has developed many software and hardware products before. Our experience with Agile methodology covers not only development but also managing non-technical disciplines. You will rapidly get up to speed with industry standard practices which we have perfected over many years.

What We Ask

Aspects of our technical requirements depends on the job but universally we have some values and non-technical requirements that we seek for in a new team member.

  • We actually value a pleasant personality more than killer technical skills. We need to be able to work happily with you. Cannot find an alternative for that, but we can always get external technical help.
  • We want to work with kind and courteous people. A happy workspace is essential for performing highly creative work. That starts with happy people.
  • We love playing games. We expect you to love it too. Love for playing games leads to an excellent understanding of game mechanics. We would like to be able to reference key elements from popular PC & console titles.
  • We require English communication skills. Our professional language and our documentation are completely English.

Thanks for reading. We hope you were encouraged to work with us ☺
